Curative and Healing Forest

For good reason, the forest is sometimes referred to as a "green pharmacy": It clears the head, invigorates and refreshes. Its restorative powers are consciously exploited over an area of 187 hectares (462 acres). Since November 2016, Heringsdorf’s coastal forest as Europe’s 1st curative and healing forest has become a huge outdoor health studio.

The forest resources

A first forestry office was established for the Heringsdorf forest from the year 1912, apparently by the Aktiengesellschaft Seebad Heringsdorf (Heringsdorf Corporation). At this time the forest was already divided by the Heringsdorf - Bansin train line. In those days, the forest largely consisted of mixed beech and pine.

In addition to the Healing Forest with the trail network, you will find another map with the paths graduated according to difficulty so that you can estimate whether you easily complete your intended route or if it would be too difficult.
